Cela peut prendre une vie. Moi, il m\u2019a fallu une vie pour quitter mon pseudonyme et reprendre mon nom.<\/p>\n

J\u2019ai travers\u00e9, depuis l\u2019apr\u00e8s-guerre, toutes les avenues du spectacle et de la chanson fran\u00e7aise en m\u2019appelant Eddy Marnay. Je dois beaucoup \u00e0 Eddy Marnay : des joies, tellement de joies que, parvenu \u00e0 un certain moment de mon parcours, j\u2019ai ressenti le besoin profond d\u2019y associer ceux qui, \u00e0 travers beaucoup de peines, de larmes et de rires, m\u2019ont ouvert les voies de la r\u00e9alisation en m\u2019offrant la seule richesse qu\u2019ils aient jamais poss\u00e9d\u00e9e, celle de leur c\u0153ur.<\/p>\n

Pour chanter dans ces pages la chanson de mon p\u00e8re et de ma m\u00e8re, il fallait que je reprenne le nom qu\u2019\u00e0 la naissance ils m\u2019avaient offert : Edmond David Bacri.<\/p>\n

Bien des ann\u00e9es plus tard cet homme devenu c\u00e9l\u00e8bre se souvient. Sa m\u00e8re a quatre-vingt-huit ans, elle n\u2019entend et ne voit presque plus. Il est son seul lien avec la vie. Devant elle il redevient un enfant et raconte Alger, ses quartiers, son vocabulaire et ses habitudes. Puis c\u2019est le Front populaire, l\u2019Exposition universelle, les parents s\u2019installent \u00e0 Paris. D\u00e9couverte de la capitale, d\u00e9but de la seconde guerre mondiale, l\u2019\u00e9toile jaune, retour \u00e0 Alger.<\/p>\n

Chronique du si\u00e8cle entre Alger et Paris, Le man\u00e8ge aux souvenirs est celui d\u2019un couple apparemment ordinaire qui soudain ne ressemble \u00e0 aucun autre : par son talent litt\u00e9raire et sa puissance d\u2019\u00e9vocation, leur fils leur rend le plus bel hommage possible, il les fait revivre, les rend uniques et attachants. On ne peut plus les oublier.<\/p>\n
